Over 15 years and more than 20,000 sessions, I have helped people across Sale, Altrincham, Hale and Hale Barns achieve results they did not believe were possible. These are some of their stories, shared with their permission.

Sarah came to me having tried every diet going. She had two young children, worked full time and had no time to get to a gym. She had put on significant weight during her second pregnancy and hadn't shifted it in three years. Confidence was low and she had a knee issue that made certain exercises painful.
We started with three studio sessions per week, completely avoiding any exercises that aggravated her knee. The first six weeks were low-intensity with a focus on building the habit and addressing the movement patterns causing her knee pain. Nutrition guidance ran alongside — no crash diet, just an approach she could sustain long-term.
At six months Sarah had lost 18kg. Her knee pain had resolved completely as the supporting muscles strengthened. Two years on, she still trains twice a week and has maintained her results. She describes it as the first time in her adult life she has felt genuinely fit.

James is a senior partner at a law firm. He had always been active in his 30s but a demanding decade had seen his fitness slide. He was carrying extra weight around his midsection, his energy was poor and he had started to feel the effects of a desk-based career in his back and shoulders.
James trained at the studio twice a week early morning before the office. We focused on compound strength movements — deadlifts, squats, pressing — and addressed his posture with specific corrective work for his upper back. Cardiovascular conditioning was built in through circuit-style finishers rather than separate cardio sessions.
Over 12 months James reduced his body fat significantly, built noticeable muscle mass and eliminated his back pain. His words: 'I'm lifting heavier weights than I did as a twenty-something. I have more energy than I've had in fifteen years.' He now trains three times a week and treats it as non-negotiable.

Linda was referred to me by her GP following a hip replacement. She was 66 at the time, nervous about exercise and convinced she had 'left it too late'. She was breathless on stairs, struggled to carry shopping and had been told by her consultant to 'take it easy'.
We began with very gentle chair-based and standing exercises, progressing slowly as Linda's confidence and strength built. Every session was preceded by a short check-in about how she was feeling. Exercises were chosen specifically to support her hip and improve balance — a key concern for fall prevention. We communicated regularly with her consultant.
Eight months after her first session, Linda completed a six-mile hike in the Peak District with her family. She now trains twice a week, carries her own shopping without difficulty and reports that her quality of life has transformed. At her last check-up her consultant was 'astonished' at her progress.

Rachel wanted to feel great for her 40th birthday party. She had been meaning to 'get fit' for years but always found a reason not to start. She was not overweight but felt soft, unfit and lacked energy. She had gym anxiety and had never trained with a personal trainer before.
Rachel trained at the studio three times a week. The private environment was crucial — she told me she would never have managed in a public gym. We focused on strength and body composition rather than the scales, combining free weight training with nutritional guidance around her busy social schedule.
After four months Rachel had dropped two dress sizes, felt stronger than she ever had and walked into her 40th birthday party with total confidence. She has continued training and has since completed a 10k run — something she said she would never do. She now brings her sister, who has just started her own transformation.

Michael was told by his GP that he was pre-diabetic and his blood pressure required medication. He was overweight, inactive and stressed. His doctor strongly recommended lifestyle changes. Michael came to me having been told that exercise and weight loss could reverse his markers.
We worked closely alongside his GP, sharing progress updates at key milestones. Sessions were initially kept at moderate intensity to avoid raising blood pressure, gradually increasing as his cardiovascular fitness improved. Nutrition guidance was central — not a diet but sustainable habits that could become permanent. We tracked his metrics monthly.
After ten months Michael had lost 21kg. His blood pressure normalised without medication. His GP confirmed his blood glucose markers were back within the normal range and removed the pre-diabetic classification. His GP described his results as 'exceptional'. Michael continues to train twice a week.

Anna is a marketing director who worked 60+ hours a week. She had been trying to train on her own for years but was inconsistent, always cancelling on herself when work got busy. She had bought and abandoned two gym memberships. She felt unfit, permanently tired and frustrated.
Accountability was the key insight. Anna trained at the studio twice a week at 6:30am before work. Because the sessions were booked and paid for, she never cancelled. We kept sessions efficient — 45 minutes, no wasted time — so she could be at her desk by 8am. Progress was tracked closely to maintain motivation.
Five months in, Anna's fitness had transformed. She no longer felt tired all the time — she credits consistent training with improving her sleep and energy levels significantly. She has not missed a session in four months. 'Having someone expecting me is the only thing that has ever worked,' she says.
